A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Camp Delta is an action adventure game set in a future where Human Civilization has moved beyond Earth, and have set up colonies far beyond the reaches of the Solar System. The game revolves around the central mystery of a loss of communication from several research camps from one of the planets Humans have been investigating, and you have been sent as a recon unit to figure out the cause of the lapse in communication. What you uncover, is a plan years in the making, and it will change the Human Civilization for years to come.

  • Custom Skyboxes thanks to Avionix, who had an amazing Skybox pack on the Unity Asset store. Really breathed new life into the project.
  • The tree models by SpeedTree were amazing, and really changed the look of the game. They're available as a free download on the Unity Asset store and do check it out if you need quick trees with the Unity terrain.
  • Standard Environment assets provided by MSU
  • Special thanks to Brackeys and GMTK, they are amazing channels on YouTube and definitely worth subscribing if you're into game dev.

This game started off as a simple course project, but evolved into something so much more, allowing me to explore Game Design and Development  in a way I haven't before. Being my first 3D game, I experiment with a lot of systems, environments, design philosophies and gameplay elements. Given this, I am aware that not everything in the game is perfect, and therefore, I request you to take some time and write about your experience playing that game. Feedback is always important in growth, and I welcome all of it, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Lastly, but most importantly, I would like to thank you, the player, for playing the game, as that is what game dev is all about, The Player.

Enjoy the game, stay safe, and have a great day.

The game was built completely in Unity 2020.2 and 2020.3LTS. All images and cinematics shown on the page are in-game footage, and no pre-rendered visuals have been used. All cinematics have been made and scored by me, and it's all made in-engine.

Thanks for the wonderfull game .  I had a great experiance and was totally immersed into it .
The game had a wide variety of enemies accross different terrains .
Balance between number of health capsules and enemies was maintained throughout .
Along the way I also found many interesting concepts like :

- The user is respawned in a place where one could take shelter and gain health.
- Enemies follow you automically .
Which made the game more interesting .
- Also there were markers in the form of flood lights to guide the user towards correct path .
If possible it would be great to have a minimap/arrow to give user directions .

There is a huge amount of thought and effort put into this game from choosing the tracks to making the story . Would love to see more such games coming from you . Best of luck .

Thanks a lot! I'm really glad you enjoyed the experience and stay tuned for the next release!

Hey Janmejay,

Loved the concept of the game....The overall setting and mood seem perfect for the Genre of Game you've made. The Game also gets the curiosity rising as it progresses....here are a few suggestions that could improve Camp Delta even more....

  • The Text showing the briefing of the game at the beginning gets a bit hard to read in the last section as the colors are getting mixed up with the background.
  • The second suggestion is about the text as well. The in-game subtitles and hints get obscured by any white or bright background. This, especially, creates a problem during the beginning of the Game as the Key Cards you get are on a white platform and it gets difficult to read the subtitles and hints during that scenario and the user needs to move the camera to another section just to read the text, breaking the flow.
  • Reducing the mouse sensitivity or at least having an option to manually adjust the sensitivity is essential as the current default mouse sensitivity might be too fast for many players
  • You could also vary up the texture on the ground by using vertex painting or using multiple materials to get rid of any texture repetition on the ground.
  • The enemy design seems quite interesting. However, you could make them even more advanced by making them faster and their movement cycle more snappy like in the Aliens series or any other zombie game. You could counter the increase in difficulty by adding more velocity to your projectiles and Decreasing the Time Between the Shots.

Here are a few resources that might help you improve the game as well as getting more insight into the points mentioned above.

For details about improving the text and UI in Camp Delta you could go through our Blogs about "Importance of Typography for Games" and "Importance of UX in Games" Also to add more variation to your terrain via material mixing you could use our "Unity URP Material Blending Shader" for an easy and seamless fix for the repeating texture. Moreover, if you wish to add more music to your Gameplay feel free to have a look at our "Free Sci-Fi Game Soundtracks" and much more awesome free music for all your needs....

Overall you've got a great project in your hands and we can't wait to see Camp Delta being improved even more. Keep us updated and Have an Amazing Day😇👍

Wow! Thank so much for this! I've already taken note of the text and I'm already working to fix the overall appearance of the briefings. Plus the final game will actually, ideally, have audio dialogues, so I'm really hopeful that it will help out with the dialogue issue.

But I really appreciate the feedback and I'll definitely keep you updated on this, thanks a lot!!

Sounds great!
